Analyzing the landscapes dynamics and transformations, this research aims to contribute to understand the mass movement process, mainly the landslide typology in the São Pedro basin in the district of São Pedro da Serra, typical rural area in Nova Friburgo city. For this study, on a hillside that had a slip with 40 meters long x 24.5 m wide, slopes above 47 per cent and over a Typic, field instruments such as Guelph permeameter were used to mesure the hydraulic conductivity and GMS s for understanding the recharge and drainage of the soil matrix process, associating the hydrological behavior with the physical and chemical properties beyond the soil s micromorphology, looking for a greater understanding of the processes that are occurring. The hydrological behavior was analyzed, also observing the rainfall events in the region as well as its duration and intensity of rainfall data through the Automated THIEZ Station, belonging to the Laboratório de Geciências UERJ / FFP in São Pedro basin. The hydrological behavior responds to soil porosity, physical and chemical factors act aiding the generating processes of landslides, as the large presence of fulvic acids and iron, doing the same to mobilize the system can generate a cementing layer. It is noticed that the researches of mass movements requires an integrative approach by analyzing various constraints, as the result of the interplay between different processes. So, the best method for this kind of research is the systemic approach.
