Reading with physicians: the education of sensibility through aesthetics. This work is the theoretical base of an original practice for the literature course and the medical course developed in the period of 2001 to 2003 at the Roraima Federal University. The project presents the possibilities of a transdisciplinarily
dialogue among Literature, Medicine and Arts with a special regard to the fine arts, adding a new dimension: the learning based on the review of disease and suffering by the Arts and the Literature,
since these are speakers for the human emotions, morbid or hopeful, with a deep connection with the
pathologic manifestations and the human condition universe. The Project fundament is the reading and interpretation of artistic and literary text collection that could be related the medical practice searching
through the arts and aesthetics to increase the academics perception about the sciences, humanities and arts relationship, stimulating the reflection on the physician s role in the bio-psicosocial-environmental context. This study surpasses the disciplinary boundaries, to show how hybrid is the knowledge of the disease universe.

is the fundament for
our approach in recollecting the demens characteristics to
find a relationship
between the inter-subjective manifestations of the subject-
patient-physician that
ultimately represents the sapiens aspect.
