Resumo:
The continuous and varied use of the deep beams as an element with structural function in different types of civil construction projects such as reservoirs, building facades among others. Besides the importance of bamboo as unconventional material in the practice of sustainable civil engineering, are facts that justify this research. The focus is given to understanding the behavior of concrete deep beams reinforced with bamboo (type Dendrocalamus Giganteus). Were tested nine simply supported bamboo-reinforced deep beams, with slenderness ratio (l / h) equal to 1.5 and same geometry, subjected to a central point load on the upper surface and divided into three groups distinguished by the geometric rate of truss. As results were identified and compared the parameters: failure mechanisms, crack pattern, deflections, strain, ultimate loads and adhesion between reinforcement and concrete. Due to the influence of the adhesion performance of reinforced concrete structures, was performed a waterproofing treatment on the reinforcing material in order to improve the interface between the concrete and the reinforcement of bamboo.
