Today we are experiencing a process of change that has affected societies as whole and thus to educational facilities. Arising from the concern of the effects caused to the environment, this research focuses on the educational context as an area supervisor and information regarding the effects of consumption on the environment and what is done in schools. In this perspective, this study attempts to address the ecological literacy behaviors that are practiced in establishments of public and private kindergarten in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. Was prepared in a qualitative observation and interviews with principals and teachers of early childhood education and literature search using works by authors such as Pdrini (2007), Grün (2004), Capra (2005), Loureiro (2009). During the observations the deficiency was noted in the qualification of teachers towards interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity between EA and other curriculum subjects. It is also evident that both headquarters analyzed the programs for ecological literacy are restricted in their range of thematic approaches and is designed almost strictly for recycling, without adopting an axis in the ethical problems of socio-environmental issues. It is believed that this study may be relevant to professional education as a oportunize resumed on the topic in the search for strategies to work more efficiently and dialogic teaching with students.
