Resumo:
This policy brief aims to provide recommendations to improve the living conditions of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Santa Cruz and Campo Grande, promoting inclusion and representation in decision-making processes. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5, 10, 11, 16, and 17, the recommendations include: an exchange program between public security agents from Rio de Janeiro and Santiago, Chile; housing programs integrated with mental health services for vulnerable LGBTQIA+ individuals; a municipal survey on the living conditions of this population; and the development of a diversity seal to map inclusive establishments. The introduction highlights the inequality and exclusion faced by the LGBTQIA+ population in Rio s outskirts, while the development section presents international examples, such as Santiago, that can serve as inspiration. The discussion of political implications underscores how the lack of effective public policies has exacerbated the marginalization of this group. The conclusion stresses the importance of implementing these recommendations to ensure better living conditions and quality of life, contributing to achieving the SDGs and fostering more just and equitable governance at the glocal level. These actions were informed by the "Manual do Início do Mundo" (MIM) project, which gathered data on the perception of violence in Santa Cruz and Pavuna, focusing on habitability and the promotion of human rights in line with the Yogyakarta Principles.
