In recent decades, a new, more affordable and sustainable means of purchasing has emerged. Due to this new trend, consumers are increasingly looking for advantages, benefits and good alternatives that meet their demands in this scenario within the market that is gaining strength. The thrift store market, despite having been around for a long time, has been growing in the luxury market in the last ten years, gaining ground due to this change in consumer behavior and the more affordable prices of luxury items. Thus, this study aims to explore the rise of the second-hand luxury goods market and investigate the impacts of this movement on the country s circular economy. For this, interviews were conducted with a focus group, in order to understand why so many luxury thrift stores appeared. Finally, the conclusion we had in this study was that the rise of this medium is due to the cost-effectiveness of the products offered, where you can find high quality items at a low price.
