Resumo:
This research aimed to investigate the impact of the new state laws that authorize the monetization of student-athlete s name, image, and likeness in American universities, through the collection of secondary data and interviews with people from the collegiate athletics landscape. From the secondary data, it was possible to understand the size of this billion-dollar entertainment industry and the entire system that governs it. From the interviews, it was possible to infer the main changes that will occur within this business model with the implementation of laws that have been emerging in several US states. Also, how each of the stakeholders involved in this equation will be affected and how they will have to adapt to the new dynamics of the industry.
