Resumo:
Real man made structures are subjected to loads that vary with respect to time. Topological optimization is a numeric technique which consists of eliminating material from a given structure (i.e. reducing weight), while maximizing rigidity. However, the computational cost of topology optimization calculations when dynamic loads are applied is extremely high. In this paper, a solution is studied for this problem – the Equivalent Static Load Method, and is presented its application in a real example. The method lowers the computational cost of solving this problem by identifying the set of static loads capable of generating the same displacement field as the original dynamic loads. Furthermore, this paper presents a theoretical revision of all the steps involved in the solution to the topological optimization problem for structures subjected to dynamic loads.
