A partir do circuito RLC série, são estudados de forma qualitativa e quantitativa o filtro passa-baixas de 2a ordem, obtido quando tomamos a saída no capacitor. Além disso, é introduzido o conceito de ressonância, um fenômeno no qual um circuito passivo no regime permanente senoidal é capaz de exibir ganho de tensão ou corrente.
