Resumo:
On March 3, 2018, an earthquake was felt in several neighborhoods of Maceió, registering a magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale. In 2019, the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM) released a technical report on soil subsidence due to land destabilization as a result of rock salt extraction. In 2020, the relocation of affected residents began. Certain locations, such as Flexais, were not directly included in the sinking risk zone, despite the fact that their population was directly impacted by the disaster with the local socioeconomic islanding process. This dissertation makes an analysis of the methodology of the damage sector map produced by the Civil Defense, since there is a population that was isolated and abandoned, as it was not included in the risk area. For the development of this work, in addition to using her experience as a local resident, the author carried out a bibliographic review and document analysis of Civil Defense sources, newspapers and websites of the municipal and state governments (photos, videos, reports, interviews, etc.). Despite the fact that the whole of the city has been harmed by the sinking of some neighborhoods, it can be seen that the impact is greater on the relocated residents and, above all, on those who were not resettled, but live in neighborhoods that are now isolated and abandoned.
