|
From a given pseudospherical surface we can obtain others using the
Bäcklund transforms. For this, it is necessary to identify this class of surfaces
with the solution set of the sine-Gordon equation. We show a generalization of
the Bäcklund transform to the more general class of hyperbolic surfaces, that
are identified to the solutions of another PDE, the Moutard equation. Finally,
we show how this generalization can be applied to the intermediary class of
Bianchi surfaces.
