This thesis is based on the desire to better understand how the material elements of the voice shift the axes of meaning in the paper-score, redimensioning the somatic and semantic experience of the listener/receiver within the song. In the research process, it was decided to invest in hearing awareness of subtleties of the word in the sung music, in order to produce analyzes that propose reflections on how the interpreter reinvents a text from its vocal emission. For that, amid the multifaceted lenses of the national and global songbook, we choose to use as a compass the so-called material elements of the voice – duration, intensity, timbre and pitch – with the aim of develop technical/poetic micro-analyzes of singers from different times and styles, having as my main source of research the songs that make up Brazilian popular music.
