Resumo:
Various forms of production of nanostructured material were studied, but a attractive alternative and the low cost came in the end of the 1990 decade, it is the alkali hydrothermal synthesis of nanotubos monocrystalline formed by TiO2 (Kasuga method). Various oxides of Ti already were used how precursors to production of nanotubes/nanowire through Kasuga method with success. The use of minerals sands containing Ti with precursor is an option so attractive due its low cost. In this present work, titanates 1-D nanomaterials were produced through Kasuga method using Brazilian rutile mineral sand with 89 per cent of TiO2. And the principal objective is check the relation between the particle size of precursor, rutile sand, with the morphology nanostructured of the product obtained after hydrothermal treatment, reaching a better understanding of the mechanism of nanotubes/nanowire formation. Was studied the effect of synthesis time in the morphology and the stability this material in acid aqueous solution too.
