Resumo:
This study aimed to know and reflect on the work of the social worker in the educational field, showing the impact of changes in the workplace in the performance of these professionals in Psychosocial Support Center for Municipal de Itaboraí Education (Napem) State of Rio de Janeiro . The survey is guided on track work, social work and education, seeking to understand how these elements interact and are presented in current Brazilian society and in the work of social workers in the educational field, taking the Itaboraí as empirical research field. Thus, discusses the work in the capitalist production process of XX and XXI, puts the social service in the social division and work technique and its legitimacy in Brazilian society as well as the influences of changes in the world of work for these professionals. Field research has focused on the role of social workers in Napem where do work with students who have learning difficulties, showing daily work, the articulation with other public policies and working with families as well as the possibilities for answers to the demands presented were object of analysis. For the implementation of research used is literature, documentary research conducted at the Municipal Itaboraí Education and Napem documents. Other important elements that enabled information to data collection were participant observation and semi-structured interviews with social workers, allowing relate the theoretical elements with the work of these professionals in the field of education in the city studied.
