[pt] O objetivo da presente pesquisa é a leitura comparada das obras Minha vida de menina, de Helena Morley (1942 [2009]), e Diário de Bitita, de Carolina Maria de Jesus (1982 [2017]), buscando refletir sobre as narrativas de Brasil contidas nestes registros de si. O trabalho situa a análise numa crítica literária que leva em conta os aspectos sociais, seguindo o exemplo de Roberto Schwarz que, na década de 1990, fez uma leitura comparada entre Helena Morley e Capitu, personagem machadiana, a partir de suas semelhanças sociais e psicológicas. Também considero as obras a partir da autofiguração textual e da escrita de si como performance, conforme proposto por Diana Klinger. Ainda dentro de uma teoria literária, faço uso da crítica genética para pensar sobre os processos editoriais aos quais as autoras foram submetidas. A pesquisa emprega, ainda, reflexões do campo da história e das ciências sociais para abordar o caráter da memória, a partir de autores como Pierre Nora, Michael Pollak e Pierre Bourdieu. O espelhamento das leituras revela que, apesar dos abismos de classe e raça, as autoras convergem na insubordinação feminina e na perspicácia crítica diante das normas sociais. O estudo demonstra que o confronto entre os textos expõe um Brasil de múltiplas narrativas, fragmentadas e contraditórias, evidenciando o gesto da leitura comparada como uma chave para acessar a tensão dialética entre a matéria social e a subjetividade performada.

[en] The aim of this research is to carry out a comparative reading of Minha vida de menina, by Helena Morley (1942 [2009]), and Diário de Bitita, by Carolina Maria de Jesus (1982 [2017]), in order to reflect on the narratives of Brazil contained in these records of self-writing. The study situates its analysis within a literary critical framework attentive to social aspects, following the example of Roberto Schwarz, who, in the 1990s, conducted a comparative reading of Helena Morley and Capitu, a character created by Machado de Assis, based on their social and psychological similarities. The works are also examined through the lens of textual self-figuration and self-writing as performances, as proposed by Diana Klinger. Still within the field of literary theory, this research draws on genetic criticism to reflect on the editorial processes to which the authors were subjected. The study also incorporates reflections from history and the social sciences to address the nature of memory, drawing on authors such as Pierre Nora, Michael Pollak, and Pierre Bourdieu. The mirroring of these readings reveals that, despite the profound divides of class and race, the authors converge in their expressions of female insubordination and critical acuity in the face of social norms. The study demonstrates that the confrontation between the texts exposes a Brazil composed of multiple, fragmented, and contradictory narratives, highlighting comparative reading as a key approach for accessing the dialectical tension between social materiality and performed subjectivity.
