Resumo
[pt] O artigo analisa Mimnermos: The Brainsex Paintings (1995), que a
escritora canadense Anne Carson (1950-) traduz como Poemas, um ensaio,
entrevistas do poeta elegíaco Mimnermo de Esmirna (séc. VI a.C.). Por meio
de um diálogo entre a criação erótica de Carson com a poética xamânica do
traduzir elaborada por Álvaro Faleiros, investigo trechos selecionados do
tríptico literário, testando a hipótese de que esse escrito aparentemente
segmentado é todo ele uma tradução. Concluo que esse ato arriscado de
cruzamento de fronteiras é a busca do que resiste à nomeação.
Resumo
[en] The article analyzes Mimnermos: The Brainsex Paintings (1995), translated by Canadian writer Anne Carson (1950-) as Poems, Essay, Interviews by the elegiac poet Mimnermos of Smyrna (6th century BC). Through a dialogue between Carson s erotic praxis and the shamanic poetics of translation developed by Álvaro Faleiros, investigating selected passages from the Carsonian literary tryptich, and testing the hypothesis that this seemingly segmented work is itself a translation. Finally, the article concludes that this daring act of crossing borders is the search of that which resists being named.
