[pt] Este artigo se dispõe a pensar o par tradução e antropologia como duas metáforas provisoriamente intercambiáveis na poética de Anne Carson. Ressaltando a afinidade da autora com os erros e a sua disposição de promover estereoscopias, usa-se como ponto de partida o poema-ensaio The Anthropology of Water, do livro Plainwater (1995), para experimentar o efeito de uma tradução que extrapola o texto original na discussão contemporânea sobre a relação entre tradução e antropologia. Deixo marcas livres no texto que traçam uma conexão muito estreita entre as tarefas dos tradutores, dos antropólogos e dos amantes no pensamento da escritora.

[en] This article sets out to consider the pair translation and anthropology as two provisionally interchangeable metaphors within Anne Carson s poetics. Emphasizing the author s affinity with mistakes and her inclination to create stereoscopies, it takes as its starting point the poem-essay The Anthropology of Water, from Plainwater (1995), in order to experiment with the effect of a translation that exceeds the original text in the contemporary discussion on the relationship between translation and anthropology. I leave free marks in the text that draw a very narrow connection among the tasks of translators, anthropologists, and lovers in the writer s thought.
