[pt] Esta dissertação examina os sentidos que a noção de representação adquire no pensamento de Bruno Latour, cuja filosofia política articula matéria e linguagem de modo a escapar daquilo que Alfred North Whitehead chamou de bifurcação da Natureza. Em vez de um dualismo entre Natureza e Cultura, Latour propõe o conceito de tradução como um processo metafísico que envolve tanto humanos quanto não-humanos na composição da realidade, conferindo um sentido ampliado ao político. Inicialmente, analiso sua apropriação da semiótica de Greimas e sua formulação da Teoria Ator-Rede, destacando a tradução que chamei de sintagmática como base para uma política lato sensu, que diz respeito à associação de actantes em redes. Posteriormente, examino a virada de Latour em An Inquiry into Modes of Existence, onde proponho que a tradução assume um caráter paradigmático. Nesse projeto, a tradução se torna uma tradução de traduções, permitindo a comparação entre redes/modos de existência. A dissertação então se concentra no modo de existência da Política [POL], a política stricto sensu, cuja dinâmica central é a convocação do Público Fantasma, que descreve a formação de coletivos em torno de questões (issues). Por fim, discuto as limitações do modelo político latouriano no contexto do Novo Regime Climático e proponho três possíveis direções para sua composição com outras questões atuais: a diplomacia como eixo central da política, a relação entre Círculo Político e cadeias de dependência/interdependência e a espectralidade do Público Fantasma.

[en] This dissertation examines the meanings that the notion of representation acquires in the thought of Bruno Latour, whose political philosophy articulates matter and language in a way that escapes what Alfred North Whitehead called the bifurcation of Nature. Instead of a dualism between Nature and Culture, Latour proposes the concept of translation as a metaphysical process that involves both humans and non-humans in the composition of reality, giving an expanded meaning to the political. Initially, I analyze his appropriation of Greimas semiotics and his formulation of Actor-Network Theory, highlighting what I have called syntagmatic translation as the basis for a lato sensu politics, which concerns the association of actants in networks. Later, I examine Latour s turn in An Inquiry into Modes of Existence, where I propose that translation takes on a paradigmatic character. In this project, translation becomes a translation of translations, allowing comparison between networks/modes of existence. The dissertation then focuses on the mode of existence of Politics [POL], politics stricto sensu, whose central dynamic is the summoning of the Phantom Public, which describes the formation of collectives around issues. Finally, I discuss the limitations of the Latourian political model in the context of the New Climate Regime and propose three possible directions for its composition with other current issues: diplomacy as the central axis of politics, the relationship between the Political Circle and chains of dependence/interdependence and the spectrality of the Phantom Public.
