[pt] Esta tese investiga a emergência e proliferação de coletivos como uma nova forma de mobilização política no Brasil contemporâneo. Argumenta-se que esses coletivos refletem um processo mais amplo de radicalização da individualização, relacionado ao que Danilo Martuccelli descreve como sociedade singularista. Embora reconheça-se a relevância da crise da democracia e do sistema representativo na ascensão dos coletivos, esta tese defende que o fenômeno vai além da esfera política e do debate sobre democracia, inserindo-se num contexto mais amplo de diferenciação social, transformações morfológicas e de valores individualistas no Brasil. Os coletivos representam uma nova forma de articulação entre o singular e o comum, onde a individualização e o crescente desejo de autonomia individual não resultam em um afastamento do mundo político ou um desinteresse pela vida coletiva. A análise qualitativa de entrevistas com ativistas de coletivos na cidade do Rio de Janeiro revela que essas novas formas de mobilização política não apenas refletem o processo de individualização radicalizada, mas também contribuem para a construção de uma sociedade singularista. Nessa sociedade, a singularidade emerge como uma nova forma de fazer vínculo e de fazer a sociedade. O singularismo prevê uma consciência socializada de si, ou seja, a singularidade dos indivíduos só pode ser afirmada por meio do reconhecimento do comum. Esta tese, portanto, procura ampliar a compreensão das transformações sociais no Brasil, relacionando a radicalização da individualização e a diferenciação social com a multiplicação de novas formas de mobilização política.

[en] This thesis investigates the emergence and spread of collectives as a new form of political mobilization in contemporary Brazil. It argues that these collectives reflect a broader process of radicalisation of individualisation, related to what Danilo Martuccelli describes as a singularist society. Although we recognise the relevance of the crisis of democracy and representative system in the emergence of collectives, this thesis argues that the phenomenon goes beyond the political sphere and the debate on democracy, and is part of a broader context of social differentiation, morphological transformations and individualistic values in Brazil. Collectives represent a new form of articulation between the singular and the common, where individualisation and the growing desire for individual autonomy do not result in a withdrawal from the political world or a lack of interest in collective life. The qualitative analysis of interviews with activists from collectives in the city of Rio de Janeiro reveals that these new forms of political mobilization not only reflect the process of radicalised individualisation, but also contribute to the construction of a singularist society. In this society, singularity emerges as a new way of making bonds and making society. Singularism envisages a socialised self-consciousness, in other words, the singularity of individuals can only be affirmed through the recognition of the common. This thesis therefore seeks to broaden the understanding of social transformations in Brazil, linking the radicalisation of individualisation and social differentiation with the multiplication of new forms of political mobilization.
