[pt] O objetivo dessa dissertação é a investigação da presença da violência como referencial na criação do primeiro livro de poesia de Oswald de Andrade, Poesia Pau Brasil, publicado em 1925. Buscamos analisar as questões que permeiam seus poemas e a relação que eles possuem com história do Brasil, partindo da perspectiva e da trajetória artística e política do poeta paulista. Buscamos compreender como Oswald lia o Brasil e como a violência atravessa não somente seu primeiro livro de poesia, como em todo seu corpo bibliográfico. Assim, traremos textos importantes que possibilitam termos essa leitura de Poesia Pau Brasil, bem como os textos que fundamentam o conceito de violência, como Violência (2017), da filósofa Marilena Chaui. Analisaremos alguns poemas de Pau Brasil sob o pretexto de desenterrar a história recalcada do Brasil, e compreender como Oswald apresenta em sua primeira obra poética a violência que nasce no período colonial.

[en] The aim of this dissertation is to investigate the presence of violence as a reference in the creation of Oswald de Andrade s first book of poetry, Poesia Pau Brasil, published in 1925. We seek to analyze the issues that permeate his poems and the relationship they have with Brazilian history, starting from the perspective and artistic and political trajectory of the São Paulo poet. We seek to understand how Oswald read Brazil and how violence permeates not only his first book of poetry, but his entire bibliography. Thus, we will bring important texts that enable us to have this reading of Poesia Pau Brasil, as well as texts that underpin the concept of violence, such as Violência (2017), by philosopher Marilena Chaui. We will analyze some poems from Pau Brasil under the pretext of unearthing Brazil s repressed history, and understand how Oswald presents in his first poetic work the violence that was born in the colonial period.
