[pt] Objetivamos discutir a tradução como processo criativo a partir do roubo empreendido pelos tradutores ficcionais Gallus e Ermes Marana, o primeiro presente no conto O tradutor cleptomaníaco, de Deszö Kozstolányi, e o segundo, no romance Se um viajante numa noite de inverno, de Italo Calvino. Dentre os autores convocados para subsidiar teoricamente a investigação, destacamos: Benjamin (2010), Calvino (2015), Borges (2007) e Deleuze (2016). Ao final, observamos que esses tradutores fictícios podem ser tomados como precursores de uma linhagem de tradutores cleptomaníacos, perceptível em razão da existência dos referidos personagens.

[en] We aim to discuss translation as a creative process through the act of theft carried out by the fictional translators Gallus and Ermes Marana, the former in the short story The Kleptomaniac Translator by Deszö Kozstolányi, and the latter in Italo Calvino s novel If on a winter s night a traveler. Among the authors summoned to theoretically support this investigation, we highlight Benjamin (2010), Calvino (2015), Borges (2007), and Deleuze (2016). In conclusion, we observe that these fictional translators can be seen as precursors of a lineage of kleptomaniac translators, evident due to the existence of these characters.
