[pt] O ressentimento, sentimento moral reativo e, de modo geral, tido como tóxico, como uma vontade de vingança, ganha, na escrita de Jean Améry, sobrevivente do Holocausto, contornos e significados surpreendentes. O objetivo do artigo é mostrar como o ressentimento de Améry nasce em um contexto histórico paradoxal. Por um lado, uma Alemanha do pós-guerra que não confronta moralmente seu passado nazista e, por outro, o Julgamento de Eichmann, que garante às vítimas do Holocausto um novo estatuto moral.

[en] Resentment, a reactive moral feeling, ordinarily seen as something toxic and as a desire for revenge, gains in the writing of Jean Améry, a Holocaust survivor, surprising contours and meanings. The aim this article is to show how Amery s resentment springs from a paradoxical historical context. On the one hand, the frame of a post-war Germany that does not morally confront its Nazi past and, on the other hand, the Eichmann Trial, which guarantees victims of the Holocaust a new moral status.
