[pt] Depois de mais de 50 anos, Maio de 68 figura ainda como um evento político-cultural de tomada da palavra que perdura, suscitando expectativas de transformações na sociedade e nas igrejas cristãs, contrapondo-se ao giro neoliberal/conservador que, já instituído na década de 70, hoje afirma-se como majoritário. Nesta perspectiva, os escritos de Michel de Certeau, publicados no calor do evento, são uma fonte privilegiada de interpretação. Para o historiador e teólogo jesuíta, Maio de 68 foi uma revolução cultural e, mais ainda, uma revolução do crer, capaz de provocar brechas de sentido e ação. A primeira parte deste estudo retoma a leitura de Maio de 68 proposta por Certeau: a crise de representações no imaginário contemporâneo, a tomada da palavra pelo viés das intersubjetividades e do cotidiano, a mística como metáfora do vivido em 68. A segunda parte aborda, à luz da categoria interpretativa do jesuíta francês, as inter-relações de Maio de 68 com o catolicismo, especificamente o que emergiu na América Latina a partir da Conferência de Medellín (1968). Finalizando esta parte, o texto mostra a pertinência e atualidade da leitura de Certeau para entender muitas tomadas da palavra ocorridas nos últimos anos, nas jornadas de junho de 2013, no Brasil, nas manifestações feitas no Chile e na Bolívia em 2019.

[en] Even after more than 50 years, May of 1968 still fi gures as a politicalcultural event which endures. The taking of the word raises expectations of a transformation in both society and Christian Churches that is in opposition to the neoliberal/conservative turn established in the 70 s which currently asserts itself as normative. In light of this, Michel de Certeau s writings, published in the heat of the event, are a privileged source of interpretation. Certeau as historian, theologian, and Jesuit, think that May 68th was a cultural revolution and, even more, a revolution of believing capable of causing gaps of meaning and action. The fi rst part of this study revisits the reading of May 68th proposed by Certeau: the crisis of representations in contemporary imagination; the taking of the word through intersubjectivity and daily life; mystique as a metaphor of what was lived in 68th. The second part, still in dialogue with the French Jesuit, explores the interrelationship of May 68th with Catholicism, specifi cally as to what emerged in Latin America from the Conference of Medellín (1968). The second part concludes by showing the relevance and timeliness of Certeau s interpretation for understanding many taking the word events that occurred in recent years from the days of June 2013 in Brazil to the demonstrations made in Chile and Bolivia in 2019.
