This is study aims to characterize the changes occurring in the urban space in the city of Muriaé, Minas Gerais, from the implementation of habitation politics after 1970. For this goal could be achieved we sought to identify who were the social agents muriaeense producers of urban space, and their respective roles in the unfolding of habitation politics in the municipality, namely: BNH, COAHB – MG and the Movement of Popular House. Initially one uses the concept of space and landscape, with the purpose of understanding how space urban landscape underwent metamorphosis opossite actions of social agents. The following is a brief history of the organization of urban space in the city. Analyze the representations of space and spaces of representations, throught the employability of the results of the questionnaire given to residents of suchs housing. One Group within the neighborhood association and a group not belonging to the residents’ association the neighborhood. Also, discussed the crisis for which the cities are today, it was found that Muriaé no exception.
