Resumo:
The thesis presented is the result of research that sought to identify the foundations of the precariousness of contemporary work in the current capitalist, financialized and globalized stage, considering the particularities of Brazil, a country of dependent capitalism, in addition to analyzing the manifestations considered most evident of the precariousness of labor social workers, in the particular context of 2020 to 2023. The highlighted period represents a phase of fierce neoliberal adjustment measures and the repercussions of counter-reforms, especially destructive in relation to labor rights, combined with the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on such analyses, an effort was made to capture possible trends regarding the shape of work and professional training of social workers, both increasingly mediated by information and communication technologies (ICTs). In order to reveal the different and most significant forms of precariousness of the work of social workers in the mentioned period, with emphasis on the set of elements identified: 1) forms of hiring; 2) working conditions and 3) retraction of labor rights, it was necessary to carry out a bibliographical review, which would make it possible to update the debate on the topic and define theoretical categories relevant to reflections on precariousness, namely Work, Overexploitation and Expropriation. It was also necessary to seek theoretical contributions to think about the relationship between Social Work, ICTs and the precariousness of work in the current stage of capitalism. From a methodological point of view, a qualitative methodology was adopted, with a bibliographic review, based on documentary analysis of the following research sources: CFESS Professional Profile Survey –Federal Council of Social Service, published in two phases, in 2022 and 2024; GPSS/UFPA research on Social Service, Social Policy and Professional Training (both constituting secondary data) and also the analysis of the category s speeches, present in the chat room on the CFESS YouTube channel, on the occasion of the presentation of Professional Profile data (2022). In addition to these data, I sought to analyze the current expressions of the precariousness of social workers work in three fields of professional activity, given their importance for the category s job market and having experienced working as a social worker and teacher in them. These are business, health and education/teaching. In this research movement, there was the opportunity to return to the initial concern, which motivated the studies, about the uberization of work as one of the expressions of precariousness. In this regard, it was possible to perceive the incidences of uberization that affect the working class as a whole, particularly affecting the work of social workers in the areas of business and education/teaching, with more vigor. It was also possible to establish a connection between the precariousness that occurs in professional training, especially that which takes place via distance learning, and the insertion of social workers in the most precarious jobs with lower levels of remuneration, as pointed out in the CFESS and GPSS/UFPA research. The set of data and analyzes resulting from the preparation of this thesis serves to contribute to the category s debate regarding trends in the profession and draws attention to the need to resume the organization of the working class, in favor of our conquered rights, in the light of time current situation, in its challenges and potential.
