This research tries to analyze the mercadification of the space and its production in act in the context of the Municipality of Duque de Caxias, specifically the downtown district, in the first district. Place that occurs the conflict between social movements and the company ABL, which aims to build a mall in the area. In the first moment we try to make clear the contrasts of a municipality considered of great collection, but at the same time has a high social inequality. Duque de Caxias due to its geographic situation points as a frontier of accumulation for capital, since several investments (even at a time of crisis, have decreased, but not ceased), most of the logistics sector are directed to the municipality. The boundaries are necessarily fraught with conflict, and we have decided to dive into one. We sought to make an analysis from the geographical point of view, searching for Duque de Caxias spellings, especially the FORAS spreadsheets (opposition forum and resistance to shopping) through a participant research. That is committed to go beyond contemplation, but being part of the research itself, so that the study serves the movement itself being studied, the FORAS. Helping in the creation of resistance tactics, and in the fight for the right to the city.
