Monitoring Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere is extremely important for life on the planet. With this in mind, the main goal of the present work is to fabricate a CO2 sensor from light absorption propagated in the photonic crystal fiber. In a second moment, after the familiarization with the equipments of the experimental set up, the calibration of the sensor was initiated with the injection and withdrawal of the gas at different concentrati- ons, always alternating with the injection of Nitrogen gas, in order to study the diffusion time of the CO2. Finally, a comparative analysis of the data obtained by the test with the theoretical database of Hitran is made. The results allow to indicate the efficiency of the sensor and its possible limitations.
