Resumo: | |||||||||||||
Hydrates are ice-like crystalline solids that normally form under high pressure and low temperature conditions. They are the result of the combination of the molecules of the light components of the natural gas with the molecules of the water. These are grouped around the gas molecules, forming a kind of cavity that encapsulates the gas. One of the problems of the oil and gas industry is the formation of hydrate. When formed it can block ducts and other equipment that carry natural gas and liquid extracted from the field. This project aims to study the feasibility of using high power lasers to dissociate the hydrate that is formed inside equipment used in industry. The main problem that will be addressed in this work is the formation of hydrate in the MCV (vertical connection module), whose purpose is to connect the production lines. In this case, the formation of the hydrate prevents this piece of equipment from being easily disassembled when necessary. The study will be carried out with computational simulations to analyze the heat conduction through the wall of the equipment, with the external heat flow (generated by the laser), evaluating if the temperature needed to dissociate the hydrate is reached.
