The present work proposes an air conditioning bus system operating with a 4th generation refrigerant, HFO-1234yf as a substitute for R134a. It s proposed a new configuration of the system to guarantee the safety of passengers and driver due to the mild flammability of the new refrigerant. This configuration consists of an indirect refrigeration system in which the primary refrigeration cycle, or the vapor compression cycle, in which the refrigerant circulates is confined to the engine compartment, and the implementation of nanofluids in the secondary loop is investigated. Through literature research and with the assistance of Engineering Equation Software, the modelling of the heat exchangers of the new system was completed.
