Resumo:
This project aims to conduct a detailed study of the main features of electrical machines and their applications in various fields. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze their operating modes and all kinds of existing motors / generators, and to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each, in order to identify the best type of machine for a given application. Among the various types of generators, we chose to analyze only the DC, AC, brushless and PMAC (permanent magnet AC) models. The first part of the project consists of a simplified explanation of operation of each, as well as its main advantages and disadvantages of operation. In particular, there will be emphasis on the permanent magnets brushless generator, which owns some applications of great interest in the technological field. The next step aims to carry out a practical application using the brushless PMAC generator in order to make clear its operation for a given specific situation. The practice will consist of modeling and construction of a microgenerator, in order to enable the loading of some electronic device of low voltage and current connected to the system output (for example a battery). The microgenerator group will be composed of several components, including an engine that supplies mechanical power to the three-phase electric permanent magnets brushless generator, which will convert it into electrical energy. The system output will also be connected to the a bridge rectifier (containing 6 diodes), whose output is connected to a voltage regulator, which functions are to rectify the output voltage to DC and stabilize it at some value of interest, respectively. The components used will be detailed throughout the project in order to make clear the role of each and the reason for its choice for the given situation.
