Resumo:
This work has the objective to make a comparison between the analytical results calculated by method of predicting the burst pressure of pipelines with corrosion colonies, called Critical Path Method or CPM, with results the test crash in pipe presenting colonies represented by rectangular corrosion defects located on the surface of the test tube. These defects exhibit variations in width, length and depth. The CPM is a method that seeks to be less conservative than other semi - empirical methods already known. Will be presented assumptions and procedures for the proper application of CPM, as their equations and and the construction of the critical line, very important for the application of this method will be presented. Finally, this study concluded that the CPM has great results, with values very close to the real pressures of ruptures of the samples. Besides having a smaller average error than other known methods.
