|
This work investigates the application of ontologies in each stage of the Data
Science project lifecycle, with a focus on domain ontologies. Based on a literature
review and a reference model built from established methodologies (CRISP-DM,
TDSP, SEMMA, KDD and Domino), twenty assertions were proposed to describe
the benefits of ontologies for each phase of the lifecycle. The proposal was
validated through questionnaires and interviews with domain specialists.
