Resumo:
This work aims to develop and make freely available a simulation tool capable of creating interactive simulations of heat exchangers for chemical engineering students, using water as the standard fluid. The case studies cover single and double tube heat exchangers, using energy balance equations. The methodology includes the development of codes in the Python language, made available on GitHub, and the development of a web interface, also via the Python language, which is hosted free of charge for public access. The TROCAL simulators were well received by chemical engineering students and proved useful for learning about heat exchangers. They are accessible, interactive and can arouse students interest in Python programming, broadening their educational experience.
