Resumo:
This research analyzes the causes and consequences of intense interdepartmental fragmentation at XPTO, one of the largest global operators in the airport travel retail sector. The study focuses on the misalignment between the Purchasing (focal department), Planning, Operations, and Marketing departments, investigating how the silo culture impacts efficiency. The main problem lies in the inefficiency of key processes, such as the purchase of large batches of items, the release of funds, and the strategic allocation of products in stores. Through a qualitative analysis with company managers, this work diagnoses that the disconnection is aggravated by the disintegration of information systems and by weak organizational socialization.
