This study aims to develop a case study on Quiva, a marketplace
focused on the buying and selling of surfboards. The research begins with
the identification of a market opportunity, proceeds through the validation
of the problem, and concludes with the proposal of a digital solution. The
study assumes there is a significant gap in how surfboards are currently
traded and proposes that a C2C (consumer-to-consumer) business model
featuring specialized filters and an engaged community can be an effective
response to this demand. Adopting a qualitative approach, the study
employs different methods to validate Quivas positioning in the market,
exploring its potential positive impact on the surfing community. The
analysis highlights how the platform contributes to reshaping
contemporary marketplaces by serving specific niches in an innovative
way. It is concluded that Quiva represents a disruptive solution for the
surfboard trade, addressing current market gaps and promoting a safe and
efficient experience for both individual and business sellers, as well as for
buyers. Furthermore, the platform fosters the circular economy and
strengthens the surfing community by facilitating access to and circulation
of equipment in the market.
