This paper aims to investigate and analyze a geotechnical case in a construction in Barra
da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, addressing the possible causes that led to the poor performance of foundation structures. The present document discusses the topic of forensic geotechnical research and deep foundation pathologies. The study identified that the cause of the pathology is due to a design error in the sizing of the piles.
