This study aims to analyze the changes in consumer behavior among gymgoers in the city of Rio de Janeiro and to understand how these new patterns influence strategies for attracting and retaining clients. With technological advancement, increased competitiveness, and the growing emphasis on wellbeing, the fitness sector has faced the challenge of adapting to a more demanding and diverse audience. The research was conducted through a quantitative survey with 147 respondents, allowing the identification of the main factors that motivate individuals to choose and remain in gyms. The study is grounded in theories of consumer behavior, strategic management, and marketing, seeking to offer practical suggestions for urban fitness centers. The results indicate that aspects such as health, location, and personalized service are decisive in shaping the customer experience. The analysis also provides a critical view of the use of technology and digital communication in this context. Finally, recommendations are presented to the sector, with a focus on innovation, personalization, and convenience.
