Resumo:
This work explores new social dynamics and their impact on wedding registries. The research investigates the significant reduction in adherence to these registries, analyzing how changes in consumer behavior and intergenerational preferences-suchas cohabitation before marriage, more transient relationships, and the rise of simpler andmore intimate ceremonies-have influenced this trend. In a context where the value ofexperiences often surpasses the acquisition of material goods, the study reveals howGeneration Z and Millennials are redefining the practice of wedding gifting. By addressingthe cultural transformations shaping expectations around celebrations and unions, thiswork provides a comprehensive view of new consumption practices and their implicationsfor the gift market, consequently affecting retail stores approaches to managing giftregistries.
