Resumo:
The study addresses the financial viability of reforestation projects for generating carbon credits in Brazil, especially on small and medium-sized properties, focusing on the Atlantic Forest. It is noted that predominant land-use practices, such as deforestation and agriculture, are responsible for a large portion of the country s greenhouse gas emissions. The research seeks to assess whether small-scale initiatives can be economically sustainable, representing an alternative to intensive land use and promoting the regeneration of degraded areas. Thus, the study aims to analyze costs, profitability, and market scenarios, providing data to encourage sustainable and financially viable projects.
