Resumo:
This essay focuses on analyzing the foreign influence on state formation and reconstruction in modern Iraq over two different contexts, during British colonialism at the beginning of century, and after the U.S. invasion in 2003, as a way to reflect about the relation between state formation and domestic political development. Based on Hedley Bull theoretical contribution on European State Society formation and expansion and the Nation-State universalization, it follows the argument about the inherent contradictions on European State model implementation no matter what the context.
