Resumo:
The present study aims to use discrete event simulation to evaluate scenarios and propose improvements in offshore flights for an oil and gas company. Scenarios with changes in resource capacities such as crew and the current scenario with maximum capacity utilization, which is currently unused, were simulated. The criticality of the process is related to the possibility of production being interrupted due to a lack of critical parts for operations, the possibility of rescuing people on board, transporting individuals without impacting worker fatigue, as well as the existence of uncertainties and inherent restrictions of air operations. An important conclusion of the study is that the current schedule does not match the amount of possible flights evaluated by the simulation, indicating a need for process and schedule reassessment. Another contribution was the verification of the impact of crew schedule on air operations. The analyses conducted in the study are important inputs for decision-making regarding flight planning. The simulation technique allowed the analysis of scenarios without the need for implementation, thus proving to be an effective tool with a great value addition to the study and the organization s practice.
