This work is based on a passenger maritime transport
company cases study, located in Rio de
Janeiro: Barcas S/A. The purpose of this study is to
evaluate current given services, weather
they satisfy or not quality standards, benchmarking the
company performance. Modern
concepts as quality, competitiveness and total quality
management are employed to analyse
the importance of a quality system directed for the
satisfaction of its users.
