The central objective of the policy brief is to offer recommendations to the brazilian ready-to-wear fashion companies of the Soma Group, such as Farm, Animale, Hering, Maria Filó and PatBO, to improve the implementation of ESG criteria and align their internationalization processes with these parameters. In addition, recommendations will be offered to the governments of the states of the Brazilian federation and civil society for greater supervision and monitoring of the implementation of these practices. In line with Sustainable Development Goals 1 8, 12, 13 and 16, the main recommendations are: strengthening partnerships NGOs, improving sustainability reports, governance committees and data transparency. The introduction presents a general context of Brazilian ready to-wear fashion and outlines recommendations for improving the application of ESG parameters by these companies in both their domestic operations and their internationalization processes. In development, the application of ESG guidelines and their relevance to the corporate sector in general is explored in detail. In addition, quantitative and qualitative data will be discussed that reveal how these actions are being discovered, while also highlighting persistent gaps. In considering the main policy implications, a cross SWOT analysis is carried out in order to develop the lines of offensive, confrontational, reinforcing and defensive strategies by companies in the context of implementing ESG criteria. And finally, in the conclusion, a call for companies to implement these aforementioned strategies to consolidate national ready-to-wear as a benchmark in the adoption of ESG practices.
