Resumo:
This thesis analyzes Brazil s role as a mediator in the international system, focusing on the case of Venezuela. The study highlights Brazil s efforts to position itself as a responsible country capable of managing crises, thereby bolstering its demands for reforms in international institutions. The bilateral relationship between Brazil and Venezuela is examined, particularly after 2013, when the death of Hugo Chávez intensified tensions in the Bolivarian country. In this context, Brazil found an opportunity to showcase its capacity as a peacemaker. The study reveals the complexities of this bilateral relationship and the strategic importance of Venezuela to Brazil.
