This project consists of thermal load calculations and then the sizing and choice of cooling equipment and ducts for a fictitious hospital environment, called the Arêas orthopedic clinic. All precautions will be taken into account as it is a place where diseases are fought and therefore has stricter safety requirements. The main objective was to ensure thermal comfort and safety in accordance with specific hospital standards, especially NBR 7256 and NBR 16401, which deal with air renewal and filtration. Books and research on calculating the thermal load for air conditioning were also used as references. In the end, the appropriate sizing of the cooling systems was determined, resulting in split units (exposed and ceiling-mounted), as well as hospital splits and ventilation boxes, all chosen to meet all the technical, safety and well-being requirements. Steel ducts with rectangular sections were also selected to transport the air inside the clinic.
