This undergraduate thesis aims to develop a linear positioning control system for a mobile device dedicated to the dynamic damping of electrical transmission lines. The primary justification for this project lies in the context of transmission lines, which, being directly affected by external agents and weather conditions, suffer interferences in their energy transmission process. This situation creates the opportunity to transform the existing non-optimal system into an intelligent one, specifically through the use of a Stockbridge damper. The proposed linear positioning control system will be applied to a mobile robot—also prototyped in this study-which will be controlled by a microcontroller.
These efforts will lead to optimal damping of the electrical transmission cables, enhancing understanding of their dynamics and preventing wear and potential fractures. Thus, the purpose of this work is to develop a project that integrates programming, mathematical calculations, theoretical models, data analysis, and electronic prototyping.
