This study aims to investigate the relationship between third-party
capital financing and the modernization of the soybean sector in Brazilian
agribusiness, focusing on the impact on companies’ market value. Data
from 2008 to 2023 from the companies BrasilAgro, Kepler Weber e SLC
Agrícola were analyzed for the study to be accomplished. The research
suggests that third-party capital financing drives the modernization and
appreciation of these companies by highlighting a positive correlation
between third-party capital financing and CAPEX and between CAPEX
investments and market value. The results provide valuable insights for the
stakeholders, demonstrating the importance of rural credit for the
sustainability and competitivemess of the sector.
