This work aims to analyze the main impacts of the automobile industry in
Brazil before and after opening the national market, evaluating the evolution of
the automotive industry in different stages of the process and how this progress in
the national sector was affected positively or negatively by an analysis of
increased production, import and export. The automotive industry generates a
myth hard to translate because of their physical and economic size. The industry is
disputed by many local governments in Brazil and this possibly means a benefit to
the local economy. Thus, these governments seek to offer all kinds of benefits and
incentives for inclusion of these multinationals in their state such as donating land
and exemption from taxes.
