Resumo:
Evolution is an essential content in biological sciences for being the scientific explanation for the single common ancestor of life and for the origin of biodiversity, thus being the integrating theme of biology. Therefore, it is essential that evolution is taught during the basic education. Within this period of education, evolution is a subject poorly distributed in the curriculum. In Elementary School II, it is limited to evolutionary ideas and natural selection, without the concern to go deeper into it by addressing, for example, other evolutionary forces and speciation process. Having that in mind, the objective of this work is the proposition of an Investigative Didactic Sequence that helps in the teaching-learning of the subject evolution in Elementary School II, more specifically in 9th grade. The activities proposed in this sequence take into account the recommendations of the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC) for the segment and aim to present the subject evolution in a more comprehensive way for this period of the basic education from the perspective of teaching by investigation, so that students can learn the concepts of the subject and, together with this, start a scientific literacy.
