Resumo:
This work aimed to develop a product in the form of a proposal to implement a didactic garden with medicinal plants as a pedagogical tool, enriching the learning of botany in basic education. To achieve this goal, (1) a list was drawn up with the materials transferred and the costs of implementing the gardens in schools in Rio de Janeiro; (2) a list of medicinal plants was suggested; (3) didactic guide with botanical and medicinal information to be used by Science and Biology teachers and students when visiting the garden was prepared and; (4) proposed classes from the botanical collection. The didactic garden, the guide and the proposed classes offer resources for appropriate learning to occur, as students can develop ideas based on their experiences, creating a relationship between what they previously knew and what they are learning.
